Piano Lessons
Tim offers piano lessons to anyone who is keen to learn. His pupils range from children at primary school to retired adults. Tim is happy to accept beginners, more experienced pupils, and adults who wish to rekindle their enthusiasm for music.
Lesson length is by agreement but would normally be 30 minutes for beginners. Tim usually sees pupils weekly during term time, but he is happy to negotiate more flexible arrangements for adults.
Many of Tim’s pupils enjoy the challenges of preparing for and taking ABRSM graded examinations; and they attain excellent results. Tim is also happy to devise alternative programmes to suit those who do not wish to take examinations or to perform publicly. Whatever the scenario, he uses music which appeals to individual tastes.

School Age Learners
Tim is more than happy to teach young people who are keen to learn. Often these pupils feel that they do not wish to take time out of lessons at school in order to learn an instrument.
He takes a patient and encouraging approach, and many pupils have far exceeded their own expectations, and indeed the expectations of their families.
Although Tim does not insist that all pupils study for graded examinations, his pupils have had great success in ABRSM piano, organ, and theory assessments.

Adult Learners
Tim has a special interest in working with adult learners. Some of his older pupils are new to musical studies; while others are revivifying an earlier interest.
All adults can benefit from learning an instrument; and many studies have shown that this activity, as well as being a highly enjoyable challenge in itself, helps to improve memory and cognitive function.
Tim meets pupils and clients either in their homes throughout the above areas (and any villages in-between) or at St Andrew’s church in Deal.
